There's only one left at that price on amazon if you search for this phrase:
"Electro Voice RE320 Dynamic Microphone"
It's usually sold for 299 but i heard at one time there was a sale for it for only 150 bucks.
Anyway, I been buying and selling mics lately started with a Shure SM58 a long time ago and now that i look back on it i think that was a great choice even for video game commentaries which i ended up using it for as long as you use EQ etc. This was around back in 2007 before youtube got big and they started coming out with things like the blue snowball ice and blue yeti which i probably would have bought instead back then. I then upgraded to a at2020 then later a at2035 after trying a blue snowball and not being that impressed by how bright and harsh it was compared to the SM58. I decided I didn't like condenser mics because of it picking up background noise from my computer even with low gain and talking close to it. I also missed the smoothness of my voice with i used the dynamic SM58 but it did lack the crisp detail that i originally bought the condensers for. I recently upgradedm y preamp to a quadcapture since i was having audio problems and thought that wuld take care of my preamp and complete audio needs since the m-audiophile 192 was pissing me off but i think it was because ididn't disable my built in soundcard in the bios or something but whatever thats in the past. since i bought this expensive preamp i figured i needed a mic of comparable price so i started looking into mroe expensive broadcasting dynamic mics which should give me more detail while still having dynamic qualities.
I read that the people who bought actually bought the RE320 so far sicne its new do like it and see it as a respectable mic not just a cheaper RE20 wannabe. But what do you guys think? I think I shoulda started out with a SM57 a long time ago then upgraded to something like the RE320 that I just bought. I see the condenser mics as a mistake I'm hopnig the re320 isn't a mistake but hey it was on sale but i am a little worried about it being a little colored and bright and having proximity effect but hey its beter than a SM57 right? good enough for me.
