    can you guys help me figure out some good ideas to mix a hip hop hook.. the track im mixing is new school and uses pretty heavy autotune.. a simular amount to im still fly, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SqqkED6H8zk , but i dnt really know what to do in terms of doubles, panning and such.. and for those who use autotune, i should tune to major right? thanks 4 the help fam.. pce

    you set the scale according to what scale the song is played in, and the same with the key

    Try using chorus effects, double, tripple, however many stacks you want, you can always take them out if you don't use them. I like to use delays especially on stacks.

    Just find your lead take, keep that one center, then pan the rest, you may pan light... say... 30% or you may like to pan hard left/right. its really up to you. Whatever sounds good.

    thanks that sounds like some good advise, what do you think about detuneing some of the doubles?

    I wouldn't recommend that. It can create phase issues. Just do another take with a different pitch, it will work out a lot better.
