How do I adjust the tempo in Logic?

I started a song in Logic by recording some guitars but I never played it with the metronome. The tempo is currently set at 100 on the Transport bar in Logic.

So I ran a BPM Counter on a bar of my guitar and it came out 118.8. If I change the tempo on the Transport bar it screws everything up because it moves my tracks around.

What I want to do is sync an electronic drumbeat with Reason 4 into Logic using Rewire but I can't do this if the tempo is not accuratly set.

Anyone know how to do this?

try setting the tempo then importing the guitar track in at the accurate tempo..

not positive if it will work but it may..

hey also how the hell do u use that BPM counter?? do you gotta press it following the tempo and it reads according to your tap??

You just set the green loop bar on the top of the sequencer to a complete bar of your instrument track and let it loop back a few times then the BPM counter will display the BPM. I just hope I, myself am doing it right. But my guitar part sounds about 180 BPM so I think I'm good. I'll try that right now and let you know what happens.

Rerecord your guitar with click...even if you find a relatively close tempo for your gat track, chances are it will lose click at some point..consider this a learning experience..always record with a click homie, you will then end up with geetttaaarrrs as tight as virgins.

But seriously, just take the time to do it right in the first place and you will thank yourself later in life.

    Thanks dude. lesson learned!

But do you think I can bounce it and then import it in a new arrangment with 118 BPM? Sound plausible to me besideds for losing all my mixer configuration.

u could timestretch it in logic..but that sucks...your audio will sound strange and clicky....plus the bpmcounter is not very accurate..just rerecord the guitar to a click..

It can't be that gnarly of a lick that you could never replay it...i would seriously just di that guitar and retrack.
