Having problems help plz.!

i'm trying to record some vocals with my new mic and its turning out to be a headache i have the alesis multimix 4 usb mixer and sterling audio st51 mic and i need to know what im doing wrong when i try to record i get a popping noise, on my other computer i didnt have that problem using the sam equipment, and im using fl studio and when i hook my headphones to mixer and choose that for the main sound source it sounds terrible plz help..
