    Alex Da Kid style drums

Hey all, not one to bite a style but I am working on a new track and I want to get a big drum sound similar to Alex Da Kid's beats for I need a doctor or Words I never said. What is the best way you guys achieve this sound? The drums seem pretty simple but it is the processing that gives them such power.

    Cheers,

Man his key really from the tracks ive heard is layering, and eq. Playing with some of the presets in Guitar Rig on some of your drums can help you a lot.

Honestly it just sounds like good sound selection and distortion. Those are not stock sounds, heavily effected. He left a big folder of some of his beats at work, they all have a similar sound drum wise. The only problem with big crunchy drums like that is they get a little lost in the chorus, especially in "Words I Never Said"

Yeah definitely, cheers heaps for the answer SvenD. Cheers also for the video CoMpLeXx. @Harley and Generals there is really no point in posting generic responses on these forums. Most of us in here are at a level where we know what tools do what and where they are to be used. If you are going to mention something like that I advise actually explaining why you are using them and where and how they sit in your chain.
