Hello,

I'm quite new to sampling (and music producing at all).
I've considered why my drums always sounds... muddy? Not fully? I want show you what I mean. I would like to recerate Logic's Life of a Don, but I just can't.
Look here:
(Logic's): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sgjJ1B5uiwc
Mine: https://soundcloud.com/benobno/trying

I've stopped on drums momment. Logic's are faaar clearer and sounds just good. It sound LOUD. My drums - not necessery. When I'm just trying to turn up it's just not work. What is the secret?

Loudness has nothing to do with what you want to do. You mean that your drums lack "punch"?

I really liked your drums, but if you insist that they lack punch, I would add a compressor
with slow attack to allow the transient to go through and if i want to exaggerate it
I would add a transient designer and bring up the attack a bit or cut the release, depending on how it sounds.

punch? Hipass your kickdrum some, Layer a test oscillator's sine wave, 50-60 hz or so with a noise gate on it, sidechained to your kick. Mess with the release and hold of the noise gate, keep it short around 25 ms.
