Sound Forge 4.5 + Lap Top + Pioneer DJM 600 =________?

I have been attempting to record onto Sound Forge 4.5 with my laptop. I run a line out of my Pioneer DJM 600 which is controlling my CD decks and turntables. I run an RCA into a 1/8" output that I plug into the line-in jack on my laptop. I am able to record into Sound Forge just fine, but the sound replays somewhat hollow and distant.

Does anybody know of any plug-ins that I can use with Sound Forge 4.5 or any other software that might be able to brighten my sound and improve my recording quality.

what sample rate
what is the level of the mixer

soundforge records what is going in .thats it
if the signal is weak u will introduce noise in when u change gain
if the sample rate is low=== 8k it will sound very bad:
need more info..
what are u listening to it with head phones
monitors
or laptop speakers = they sux.
