Need some advice on stereo placement of saw wave chord stacks

I'll try to be brief here. I'm experimenting with big saw-tooth chord stacks. I usually have these chords panned wide in the stereo field. Should the lead of my song be centered in the mix with the chords panned out left and right of the lead, or should my lead just be panned wide too? I know it's up to taste but I could use some advice here. Hope I was clear enough, thanks in advance.

You can do what you want, which is why it is an art and a craft (with some science too).
But what most people would do would be to think of the lead like a lead vocal, in which case keeping it in the center as a focal point of the mix would seem prudent.
