How to Monitor your Montoring.

Ok, here's the deal. I have a very nice pair of Sony MDR-V600 headphones, and I use them to monitor my final mixdowns. The headphones cost me $100 smacks. Now then, I've noticed that my mixes sound great in my headphones and also on my home stereo system, but they don't sound as good coming from my computer or in the car. My home stereo system uses a Sony tuner and Bose speakers, but the computer uses Midiland speakers and the car uses some generic brand.

My take on this is to ignore the cheap speakers as a viable source for feedback because I know the sound is only poor because the speakers are poor.

I'm just curious as to other peoples view on this matter.

your sony headphones sound great because they hyped up to the max .....
you actually should reverse your scenario and refrence on the car stereo .....
if you can make it sound good on the shity speaks,
then will almost always sound good everywhere...

when i mix i will get balances on ns10's at low volumes...
then switch between my dynaudios and the 10's at low and high volumes....

burn a ref. cd and go out to the car....

i have mixed over 100 songs so far this year and no recalls yet....sonicchuck7@yahoo.com :D
