How to mix two or more ambient/chillout pads?

Hi to everyone, my name is Maurizio and I'm an ambient/chillout music composer. I'm getting crazy mixing and equalizing two atmospheric ambient chillout music pads. This is the result for the moment (we.tl/e6zeRI4esG) and I would reach out this result (youtube.com/watch?v=gr_ruQJDLM8), a clear and warm sound of the pad. I've taken out the bad and unnecessary frequencies of the two pads but joining them the sound sounds muddy (excuse for the word plays).
I've used Parametric EQ 2 of FL Studio like plugin EQ and 99 Sounds samples.
How do I do? There aren't any video tutorial on how equalizing ambient pads.
Thank you very much.

I think it depends a lot on the actual sound you are using. A lot of pads don't really mix well (again totally depending on the sound itself). I would try focusing on one pad, and eq-ing and mixing it so that it imitates the sound you are going for in the video.
