Help needed for specific 808 mixing.

808 in this song -



Can anyone explain how he gets his 808's to sound loud and have bass, yet there is not a low end rumbling or muddiness. You can clearly hear the 808 but you barely feel a low end. EQ ? Compression ? Any advice can help !

Basically what you are hearing is overtones due to harmonic distortion rather than any fundamental bass frequency......try using a saturation plugin.
