Effecting Or Mixing The Voice To The Beat

on my cubase le when i record my voice with a beat for some reason my voice doesnt ''fit'' the beat it sounds kinda like its not ''in'' the beat so it sounds kinda weird.. kinda like the effect you would get if u rapped accapela (without a beat) and then put a random beat on it and my voice goes on the beat not in does anyone have any tips or anything to help me fix this?
