I was wondering how would you go about emulating the bass on the beats on his mixtape? Ive noticed it is not just a regular 808 but a bass drop of some sort but I'm not too sure?

I've been doing a lot of experimenting with that type of "dropping" or sliding bass. I use FL studio and what I found works well is using slide notes when shifting pitches. There are a few good videos on youtube that explain how to slide 808, play around with it a little bit a lot of cool tricks you can do with it.

A synth module makes it easy. Just create an 808 sound(doesn't have to be the best, overlay it with a short kick), and make it monopoly. I'm thinking the TB303(Edit:TS404, my bad) in FL would be the go to for this. Thor and Subtraktor do great in Reason.
