Chirpy trap snares like 808 mafia

Does anyone know how to get the chirpy trap snare sound (see link below for an example)?

I think I have an idea how they're made (layering snares and/or rim knocks, or claps and then overboosting the high frequencies in a graphic EQ with a sharp Q), but I can never get them to sound anything remotely similar to the above. Hell, Id even take a sample at this point; they just seem tricky to mix at first, like orchestral stabs. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance.

It's literally the sample from the regular pack. But my advice would be
1- Saturation
2- Drum Group Compression
 
i would say it is good samples and sharp equalizing plus group compression. the "richness" from the sound i'd think comes from saturation.
 
use a not so drastic phone effect preset on snare of your choice. thats all it is.
