I want to produce trance ....
I have korg trinity, Q rack, PIII500 256MB.
I want to buy a sampler too.

I want to buy a sound card
someone told me to go for the audiowork sound card

is it a good sound card?

what is your opinion?
:hello:

I have a AudiowErk card of Emagic.
Is it your card?
It have :

One in/out sp/dif.
One stereo in and:
Eight analog outs.

If you work with Logic Audio this card is a good option because triger the leds of the program and help to program in audio areas . I was note this comparing in a old computer to other card
Warning , is a not Midi card without midi in/outs and without hardware synth.
But is a good sound card . A bit of noise in analog outs but a good 18bits device .

All Creamware cards are good value for your money.

Luna 2 with the 2496 break-out box would be great but the only little drawback is that the analog in/outs are all on RCA connectors.

If you use Win2k there's no drivers yet (except beta) though but they're coming too.

Or even better if you're loaded with cash :

Pulsar 2 with the Z-link interface option + Luna 2496 box = twice the DSP power of a Luna card (can run also synths, a sampler, more fx & dynamics, etc..) .

Yep. They run on the 6 DSP processors that are on the Pulsar 2 (btw. each of the processors is said to be as powerful as a 400mhz Mac G4). Luna has 3 processors.

And they run in real time - even faster than some hardware synths and samplers.

a mac G4 powerbook is a good choice?
I'm thinking on live setup.
a desktop computer is to big mess for a live setup.

but what sound card wiil be good for a G4 powerbook?

See Universal Audio Powered Plugins too.
Its most expensive card (a bit) but it runs hardware plugins. In your software (VST.MAS.rtas in future).
And real profesional plugs.
I have a pulsar 1 too and is a good plataform but the software is a toy program . In the future can be a professional option if change this.
Luna ll can run hardware plugins and its a good device too.
Pulsar XTC can be other option.

Sorry, E-mu APS is a toy. Ok nice sound quality for home productions but it's very outdated. Doesn't support 24 bits and can't go higher than 48khz.

But if you wanna buy mine, let me know ;)
