Audio dropouts when midi sequencing in Cubase

Hi guys, I upgraded my machine recently but I'm still getting a red light light appearing on ASIO Cache overload in Cubase. Normal audio recording seems fine at present but I get this problem when I synch the DAWS clock to the Microbrutes. The notes on the sequence just don't sound as smooth and there's a perceptible crackle, maybe due to a delay? I've messed around with the buffer size to no avail.

Mr specs are as follows:

Intel Core ir-4690k CPU @ 3.50Ghz
16Gb Ram
100GB SSD
1TB SATA

Surely these specs are enough to allow me to sync an external up to the DAWS clock? I'm new to MIDI sequencing so not sure if I'm doing everything right. Thanks

What kind of an audio interface are you using?

^^^ what krushing said...

Crackling sounds like an audio interface being pushed to hard... Try increasing your buffer in the interfaces control panel... (Via cubase menus... Can't remember at the moment... Maybe device setup...)
