What would be a good camera for a music video?

I think you're right on with the T3i and sticking to the Canon Rebel Series. I think as far as affordability, they're a great product for the money. One good thing to do if you haven't already is to go yo Youtube and type in "T3i" music video replacing T3i with other models you may be considering. You'll find videos made with those specific cameras.
 
T3i camera owner here, let me tell you... a t3i by itself isn't an effective tool. You'll have to invest in additional equipment, such as a professional lens, tripod, stabilizer, extra batteries, and lights to truly get professional video. That said, there really isn't another out of the box option that I know of, that comes with manunal controls for video. There are some great sony camcorders though, such as the sony cx900 or the ax100, great camcorders for their reasonably great prices.
