Hey folks.

I've got a little problem.

My buddy is editing a music video right now
for someone and everytime I render
an mp4 file that he asked me to convert
an mp3 file, a few tenths of a second gets
added to the beginning, ruining the synching
of audio and visual.

I'm using soundforge and I also tried acid :(
Is there a way to render without time getting added?

Why don't you just cut the few seconds from the start of the mp3 in your video editing software and match it by hand? (like a boss)

^ what he said... or you could just add an extra frame in the video, maybe make the title card a lil longer. the possibilities are endless.

Well that's totally what I told him to do
But he said there isn't a time ruler
On his software.

Tell him to match the waveform of the audio track with the waveform of the video's native audio. Make the peaks match the peaks, and the valleys match the valleys.

If your video editing software doesn't render the waveform on audio files, you should probably look into purchasing a new one. Adobe Premier Elements is a workhorse for around 100 bucks.

Ight I'll tell him to do that.

I think he's using final cut pro

Final Cut Pro does have a ruler and you can enable waveforms. Either it's not FCP or he doesn't know how to use it.

Try rendering as a .wav or an .aiff.
