good programs for video editing?

im looking for more advanced than windows movie maker and less advanced than after effects,

also im not trying to spend too much on it.

I use Avid Studio (it's pretty much Pinnicle Studio 15).

Simple and cheap. I've heard Vegas is nice though.
 
Yeah, it looks like in this range you should go with Sony Vegas. However, if you are looking for other programs to aid you in your video converting/editing process, good programs to grab are MPEG Streamclip, Handbrake, VLC, and be sure to make sure you have a good codec pack that handles various codecs.
 
I'll second Lightworks. It's free, and even Hollywood studios use it. Pulp Fiction, Gangs of New York, Good Will Hunting - all edited on Lightworks.
