Exporting your project

Hey guys -

No matter what resolution I take the video in or anything I cant seem to get a clear video at the end of my production.
Does this have to do with setting up the project before I even begin my edits? Or is it in the exporting of the project?

How do I get that nice clear HD look?

Ive watched a couple video tutorials and they all have different settings for the export and setup of the the project settings....
I was hoping someone could clarify this for me.

By the way I use sony vegas.

I don't use sony vegas but it could be in both your project settings and export settings, make sure both are 720p or above (1280x720)

720p or above and I've had better results exporting under the QuickTime codec. Go into audio and make sure it's set to uncompressed also.
