    Both are digital audio 16 bit/44.1. If the iPad goes 24 bit....

    Shit i am still waiting on mpcs go to 24 bit. The 4000 did but the others are 16 bit or in the case of the 60 12 bit. Meanwhile software has been running 24 bit since the late 90s

    I think that sounds are just going to become better in quality and therefore it won't matter what the device is it will just be about the output more than anything.

    Exactly. The current iPad has the same specs sound wise as an MPC 1000/2500 and you can email yourself your track when your done or post it directly to your website, soundcloud, etc.

    Yes I think so... Check out "AKAI - MPC Fly" on google.

    AKAI have taken classic MPC hardware and added an iPad dock with custom app... Too awesome for words.

    True and using a MIDI interface like iRig MIDI you can connect any MIDI controller to control tons of the great apps out there too!

    im saying the ipad probably will replace the MPC because the MPC is an expensive piece of kit that does just one thing where as the ipad does multipul and seems better bang for the buck

    Exactly! Plus when you take into account how many people already have an iPad or an iPhone/iPod touch there are tons of musicians already with these. They naturally will figure out a way to make music with them. Musicians love music, its in their nature.
