Maybe an Akai s900/s950 rack sampler?
Since mashine support vst just get some efx. 12 bit processing is still digital so very well reproduced by software. mpc 60 is just a 12bit computer. all the 12bit drum which were sampled thru an mpc60 that you hear on record, have been to some king of processing(compressor,eq etc...) so they can be full and punchy.
You have many option out there:
check efx like 112db morogana sampler or efx or you also have ,uad plug ins,PsP compressor .
oh and If you are on MAC check the NOTE REPEATER application from MAC App Store. there is a video on youtube: NOTE REPEATER smk7dev
Yeah, this would be much easier with plugins. Of course, just lowering to 12bit won't sound like much by itself; the MPC's digital to analog converters are at least as important in imparting that famous character.
My favorite plugin for this is D16 Group Decimort. Amazing MPC60 setting.
(You may have already tried this) Have you tried using the Maschine's Vintage Mode: MPC 60. It's not identical to a real MPC 60 but a good place to start.
I saw a girl texting & driving the other day & it really made me mad, so I rolled down my window & threw my whiskey flask at her.
Lol buy an MPC Rennaissance it has an MPC60 vintage mode
I'm really livin the idea of getting s900 or 950 I'm wondering howmuch grit it well give and how hard it would be to setup with the maschine like how would it work
I wouldn't call a Mpc 60 a gritty machine. In its day people went to mpcs because they had the cleanest punchiest sound they aren't really gritty. What kind of songs would you use to describe that sound because I bet you really want the SP1200 sound in which case nothing really sounds like an SP I hear. I have heard some raw SP mixes and nothing sounds like them at all imo. The Ensoniq EPS classic is very gritty and not too expensive either. $200 on ebay not bad and its a really nice machine to use imo. I sold mine to go totally in the box though
man i wish i had the money for a sp ;( but i was looking into the decimort plugin and it looks pretty intensive and well programmed can anyone shed some light on how good it sounds?
