    whats the best program to make beats?

    i wanna start making beats for my friend that raps and i would like to know what the best program is....i have a macbook pro and garage band seems okay but im sure there are better ones. any advise?

    There is no best, they all basically do the same thing. Check out Logic, Reason, Reaper, Live.. Basically any DAW you can get your hands on and pick one you like the feel of.

    And use the sear this has been answered a billion times already.

    If I where you,Id start with pro tools. Check out LE 8

    For the PC I would say either FL studio or Reason. FL Studio is easier to use but Reason is closer to hardware simulation. They can even be linked together for more sounds and VST usage.

    For making beats on a mac logic pro 100%
    The sampler in it is amazing one of my favorites.
    And it comes with A LOT of synths, sampled instruments, drums, etc...
    The drum programer built in is pretty nice, but I just use the exs24 for my drums and any other synth I am sampling.

    To pro tools is great for mixing, but if you wanna write then logic pro is the way to go.

    But that's just my opinion.

    All personal preference buddy, download some trials see what you like
    I went with REASON, its great

    Protools of course !!!! Logic or maybe Cubase !!!
