What are your biggest frustrations?

Reason 8, while amazing otherwise, has issues with external hardware/controllers. You'd think this would lead to a lot of tutorials on how to address these issues but it doesn't. Nothing more annoying than buying hundreds of dollars worth of mic stuff and it taking hours to get it to work.

The amount of bullshit people post without knowing what they're talking about just trying to earn ad revenue. I have to wade through tons of it just to get to relevant information that is useful.

This is why depending on the internet to learn a skill is a waste of time.
Real life mentors and tutors > YT videos and random Google queries.

Depends on the mentor. I have met some truely worthless people doing music, one music teacher who showed up high to almost every lesson while I was paying for one on one sessions.

The internet is only a useful tool if you can figure out what questions you need to ask. Mentors can tell you about stuff you hadn't even considered of importance until they brought it up.

^^^True, very true.

Having to spend 80% of my time on networking/social media/forums etc etc, and only getting to spend 20% on music. Or even less.

I spend 40% music
20% smoking rock cocaine
20% acquiring rock cocaine
10% masturbating to tranny porn
10% Wondering where the hell I am at with no clothes on
I am only frustrated with the last part. Once, I woke up in a carpark naked with a Batman mask on. I got arrested but the federales wouldnt gimme the mask back though. I am a child of god.

As I'm unable to be in the studio every night (babies) my biggest frustration is absolutely Windows Updates.
Not being able to do anything while Windows 'configures' feels so prehistoric when you know you only have an hour or so (or less) to play with!

Haha you got me thinking of all these FL Studio mastering tutorials. I remember back in the days when I was new to production and actually listened to what they said without questioning... horrible mistake

Speaking on Windows, I have a chance to get a free upgrade to Windows 10, should I do it?

Any of you guys watch Busybeats or MrdifferentTV? They have good tutuorials. Right now I am in the clicking around phase and I learned some new things

I upgraded from Win 8.1 to Win 10, and so far I haven't seen any bigger advantage of it. It's more if you like Win 8 but still want the good ol' Win 7 start menu.
But that's just me. I'm sure there are a lot of advantages under the hood with it.

One con though is that not all softwares have upgraded their programs yet so their drivers work well with Win 10, for instance I do now have a glitch with my Focusrite driver that occurs every now and then as the driver is still for Win 8.1 and I have to reset the sample frequency on it to fix it temporarily whenever the issue happens.

Thanks for the insight, i'll just keep this version of Windows, not going to sweat it. Still haven't hooked up my focusrite yet, just fiddling around with fl studio, interesting it is indeed

which is why updates are installed at my discretion not automatically

you can download the upgrade off-line and apply it in your own time - even though you do this you still get reminders to upgrade (even if you hide the update in the update manager)
