I think the hip hop generation is somewhat selfish in some ways. Why do I say this? Because it is only since the advent of hiphop that anyone began to think that anyone was too old to be in the entertainment business. I know. Someone is going to say(but we are talking about hiphop). Well hiphop is entertainment too. Just as Jazz and R&B and Bebop and Rock&Roll and Blues are all entertainment. So too is Hiphop. But somehow young people want this form of entertainment all to themselves. Now, Is this selfish or what.

hiphop is a culture and rap is the music
and like I said the rap genre is only about 40 year old so give it time because I'm sure Pete Rock is in his 40's
I know the topic is starting in your 40's
and like I said go for it why not... I wouldn't say give up your day job..until you're making twice as much money with your music than what you're making at your day job unless you're making 100,000's a year at your day job lol..

if I was making 100,000's of thousands of dollar I'll build a huge studio in my basement
and enjoy working in it on the nights and weekends

No I don't think Image matters at all, half the time the artists don't even meet the producers, everything is done over a network.
Unless you plan on putting a big picture of the producer on ur cd cover and he's in a wheel chair I don't think it matters at all.

It doesn't matter at all...yea if you wanna be flashy on tv and get in everyones videos then it might matter but at the end of the day I doubt it would. No one would ever not use a hot beat because the person who produced it is old lol
