    Ah jeez , I ask for clarification to help the OP and he ignores ..... what a cool guy

    Right then , EVERYONE should be using a passive attenuator between their audio interface and monitors .
    This is not only for volume control without bit-depth loss , but for the protection of the monitors and your hearing should the computer crash and output 100% digital noise .

    If you have an audio interface.... here you go.

    Amazon.com: sm pro nano

    ^ This will allow you to turn off your monitors without touching them. You're looking for a volume controller knob. Ther's a few out there... Mackie Big Knob... TC Electronic Level Pilot... etc.


    If you don't have an audio interface... get one. Almost all of them have outputs for your monitors and a headphone jack. That should fix your problems.



    Personally.. i'm about to get a headphone amp (Presonus HP4) so I can manage everybody's headphones separately.
