Starting up questions

Hey so for the past few months
I have been saving up some money with some planning and research

I am trying to produce music, I would say beats
based of samplings from specific eras of genres
[Still have not chosen the source/method of sampling] - I would like to sample of vinyls but I am not currently in the situation

I am new and I have no background of music or whatsoever
[planning on to take some piano classes and diatonic harmony classes if it helps]

so this month since I got my space and money
I was planning on to buy some gears for my home studio even though I move alot

I am currently getting along with Logic Pro X and learning by reading manuals and working it out
[Would be awesome if somebody would recommend me a free lesson website]

These are some equipments I was planning on to buy

Avid fast track duo $70 [bought] USED

AKG P200 $60 USED
Akai MPK 49 $205
Presonus Eris E4.5 $160

These are the prices Im getting these gears for
but my question here is that if I was trying to sample and make beats

would it be better to get drum machines?
some people recommend not getting drum machines unless you were making money off by selling beats and skilled

what are your thoughts?
and I hope I have posted in the right forum for this question

Unless you really fancy playing around with the hardware stuff (as in drum pads or the onboard sounds), I don't really see much use in getting one since basically every DAW has its own drum machine plugins that do virtually the same thing.

Now I'm not saying you couldn't get one, but you might want to figure out why you want one before you do.
