Sampling from Stem Files....???

1. Obviously...If you wanted to...you could just sample from stems/multi tracks too right...???

2. Is this unheard of and therefore is it less common than the traditional way of sampling...???

3. In general...Can sampling from stem files be seen as an easier route/form of sampling since you can sample individual instruments/sounds that you like instead of trying to sample parts of a song that might have instruments/sounds you don't like...??? (For example...only a vocal, drum, synth etc)

I know its gonna be subjective and different depending on the situation from person to person.

Obviously not "unheard of" but certainly less common because most of the time these are not legally available, excect if the artist so decides and/or there's a remix contest and they take up a lot of space, because of their usually more professional nature they at least should be in .wav or other lossless format, so they're not bound to "get around" as easily as, say, an mp3.

Easier route? Depends on how you think about it. Certainly more flexible.
