the rules for Producer looking start his own company and to sell instrumentals
    1. make decent instrumentals
    2. network
    3. copyright your instrumentals
    4. join a publishing company
    5. have contracts printed and ready
    6. Some kind of Promotion(I use my page on myspace.com,that new music store that you can put on your page is crazy, can become a cash cow for alot of producers and artists.)
    7.Manage other producers
IF I'm missing any steps in there, please let me know. About to start my own Production company so I'm trying to get everything down. Knock it out and get thing crack'in.

You should start your OWN publishing company. By joining a Publishing company they will typically OWN the rights to YOUR MUSIC.

And your music is copyrighted the moment you fix it to a tangible medium....that is all.

I was talking about joining BMI or ASCAP and yes you need to start a company mines is name TONEZILL BEE EATS. I been working on my business plan for a while now almost done. In about two years I want to get a small building and run a production studio there, that will keep ppl out of my house ya dig. I haven't put any instrumentals in that myspace store yet,I wrote SNOCAP a email. The email I wrote i said they should make a music store more tatalored to the producer I want to make sure I get credit for my beat. The buyers already know that the rights are non-ele.

Hi can anyone tell me what a non-exclusive contract looks like, I got a interested party in Europe that would like to purchase 3 tracks for $500.00. I'd appreciate any info you can offer.

    Thanx
