Recording via nanopad2 into piano roll

Hey, I got a question i cant seem to find the answer too. I got nanopad2 and i chopped my sample loaded it into the different pads can get sound but when I record nothing happens or it only does it to the player on the right with all the channels as an audio file but id like for it to go to drum roll so if im off alittle bit i can perfect the timing of when i pressed the pads.... yah know? Plzzz someone help me.

If you use fl studio, right click the record button.

Sometimes just clicking anything in a daw is also a very good way to get to know the layout of a daw too.
I still do that lmao
 
I am using fl and right clicking brings up the audio,score, and automation... i have tried everything. How do you set up your recording options when using just a midi pad set.
