You can use books but really there is soo much on the internet to be obtained. Its basically unlimited information because there are soo many articles at your disposal. With just a search engine you can promote, market and even sell your music to the public of the internet.

Articles are exactly like forum posts -- they usually skim over the surface of a specific topic.
These fragmented bits of knowledge (which tend to have a higher rate of inaccuracy than published books) often require understanding of interrelated topics which you might not be familiar with, leading to link-surfing:

Wikipedia:Getting to Philosophy - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

    agreed,

Internet articles are not much more than blogs - mostly opinions rather than hard facts and as reliable as some posts in forums as well

And, yes, as with most things that skim the surface, you have have to play internet scavenger hunt sometimes simply to get an answer that makes sense - very few folks take the time to explain terms and meanings of any language they use, expecting that folks will understand because they have found "their" site; assumptions about common language often lead to miscommunication

I deleted the second quoted item one (self-promo spam: hasn't worked out how to use his sigfile yet, is my guess)
