Newbies, follow these instructions to enable your PMs (Private Messages). Go to "My options"-------> "Edit options". About 1/3 down the page, there is an option called "Enable private Messaging?". Select "Yes" on that. Two headings down, there is another option called "Pop up a box when you receive a Private Message?". Select "Yes" on that too. This way mods (or anyone) can send you private messages when you make newbie mistakes instead of "putting you on blast" in a public thread.

If you're asking a question please put the question in the subject line so that people will know what you asking.

If you do this you will get more replies.

People aren't going to open every thread titled
    "Hey i got a question....."

But if you clearly state your problem in the threads title people who can help will be able to read the title and have a little more idea if they can help.

In your profile there is a section to enter what equipment you have. This is here for a reason: so that whenever people ask questions without bothering to mention what equipment they are using, people who are kind enough can have a look in your profile and see what you are talking about.

DONT TYPE IN CAPS LOCK. IT DOESNT MAKE YOUR POSTS STAND OUT OR MAKE PEOPLE NOTICE WHAT YOU ARE SAYING. ITS IS JUST VERY ANNOYING TO READ AND WILL CAUSE MORE PEOPLE TO TELL YOU TO TURN IT OFF, THAN ANSWER YOUR QUESTION.

TRADING OF SOUNDS, ACAPELLAS, REFILLS IS NOT ALLOWED

Posts requesting trades of drum kits and sounds etc will be removed as there is no way we can be sure that they are not protected by copyright.

    Thank You.

ABOUT POSTING YOUR MUSIC IN THE FORUMS:

Please don't post your tracks in the Newbie Producers forum.. This is the forum to ask basic questions, on how to "get started".

FP has DOZENS OF FORUMS (!!!) ... 3 of them are just for that: getting your music reviewed

Post your tracks to review in ONE forum (not in each). 3 are available, Pick the one that fits your genre of music:

    To Embed the soundcloud player

    1) your url should be of the form

http://www.soundcloud.com/your-artist-name/your-track-title or similar (maybe no www, maybe https, some other variants which are less common, these will not cause errors)

    2) wrap the [soundcloud][/soundcloud] tags around your link [soundcloud]http://www.soundcloud.com/your-artist-name/your-track-title[/soundcloud]

    giving you

    3) If you get the garbage version of the player

it most likely looks like this in the tagsets

    [soundcloud][url]http://www.soundcloud.com/your-artist-name/your-track-title[/url][/soundcloud]

You will need to edit the tags to remove a spurious [url][/url] tagset that has been inserted by the vBulletin incorrectly or deliberately (it depends on how you entered your link in the first place)

when editing in the wysiwyg editor, select the link and then click on the unlink icon in the toolbar (world with a red cross in the lower right corner) this will remove the [url] tagset

    4) if you can still not fix it, go to the advanced editor, click on the swap editor icon (top left icon) and then manually edit to remove the [url][/url] tags from within the soundcloud tags.

    5) you can use the advanced editor to drop a soundcloud linked player into your post/signature - it is the orange cloud in the toolbar, making sure you avoid the problems that arise with a random or spurious [url][/url] tagset present
