I need help choosing my artist/producer name. I know it's not the most important thing but I just want to get it sorted out.
I have given a list of what I've come up with so far, opinions are welcome!
1 Corcoran (My Surname)
2 Michael Corcoran (My Full name)
3 MCM (stands for:Michael Corcoran Music)
4 Neos (Greek for new/young, I like the sound of it :P )
5 Narroc (Sort of anagram of my surname)

By saying your identity as artist/producer isn't important, you are also saying that the Coca-Cola isn't important. Your name is your brand, and you need to choose well, something people will remember.

I was more covering my ass by saying that, I know it's important but people always complain saying it's about the music not the name(which is true in a way).
The name is very important to me... That's why I'm doing this poll :)

I understand that, man. Music IS the most important thing, afterall, what are you here for, right? But your brand is also important.

Let's give some examples: do you know who Led Zeppelin are? and Beatles? and Rolling Stones? Pink Floyd? surely, they are recognized by their music, but also by their names.

Anyways, You can really use any of the names you've written there. Or use a nickname you've always had.

I like MCM. I'm certain there is an entity with that trademark, but none are relevant in music.

The last 3 names in the poll sound good to me. Maybe to go with Neos or Narroc, because it sounds good (at least to me). MCM is good too, but there are to many hip hop artists using mc as part of their name (some even aren't hip hop artists!) so maybe you need to go with something new.

Their names are recognized because of their music. If your music is really great and becomes popular, people will remember what ever name you have . It's not the name itself but what it's associated with.

Not saying my name is clever in any way but i chose my name (Triple Seven or 777) for a particular meaningful reason

1. You go to a casino and play some slot games. when you see those numbers 777 light up on the screen, that is nothing but good. Same concept, seeing as that 95% of music is seen and heard through the screens of our computers, i was hoping to achieve some sort of subliminal/subconscious effect, because generally your seeing lucky numbers on a screen, and when you see my name youll associate it with striking luck and whatever good.

2. I thought the story surrounding the Boeing 777 was pretty legendary in its own sense. Just like the legacy that was surrounding the construction of the plane, I wanted to have the same effect with my music lol.......

So importantly, focus on the content as your main priority. But like they said, its your brand. Make sure your name isnt confusing or forgetable. and be original i guess (funny how i said original seeing as theres some sort of famous mexican rapper named triple seven already so im being a little hypocritical here lol)
