Posting beats on youtube as FREE

I see a lot of producers post their beats on youtube and title them as 'FREE' but have a link to buy in the description. I'm assuming all these beats are free for non profit use. My question is... Do any of you guys do this? Do you reccomend allowing your beats available for free non profit use? I imagine doing so ill see a boost in views and interest, but maybe a decrease in sales if people are more likely to just use the free version?

Thought those are marketing strategy to attract listeners. Good cause if for non-profit.

The more people that view a youtube video with ads enabled generates money to the person posting the video, posting a beat as "free" , attracts more people than a video Titled "pay $200 for this beat ", its a great way to advertise your beats

Great idea posting beats there but it shouldnt be your main hub just part of a bigger picture
