Need help, quick easy question

No, you won't put the USB to the interface. Thats just to send MIDI signals to your comp. If you don't know what that is I can explain. But what will happen is you go from the audio outs of the keyboard to the ins of the interface then the interface goes to the comp via USB or firewire depending on what kind you get.

You can go to tweakheadz that website is solid as ****. It covers just about everything.

word i got that, what is the big difference between USB and firewire? the quality?

and can i look for any USB interface and that will work just fine? or should i narrow my searches to something specific and if so what should i be looking for?

i would think anything USB is fine right?

I say find some interfaces your interested in then search around the net for reviews and such. Firewire is just faster but I think newer USBs are about as fast now? I'm not really sure on that.

Here is an audio interface that will work in your budget that will let you record with it and you can get solid recordings. Lexicon Alpha | Sweetwater.com I used this audio interface for like 4 years, For the money its great.

Get a Steinberg CI1, I use it with Logic and I am really satisfied with it.

Is also quite cheap, and perfect for what you want.

Hallo Henk....if the keyboard has an audio out or headphones jack you can record your music on an audiotrack in your DAW.

Bust much better to use software sounds via your keyboard-midi connection.

Not sure about interfaces but in generals youre probably not going to want to use those sounds that came with your keyboard, look into vsts.

The alpha only comes with a usb cable for the device itself. You will need audio cables for most audio interfaces
