Mixer effects in fl studios 9

Hey, I'm very new to FL studios and was wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction here.
I'm making a track that features a piano skank throughout, I have 1 pattern with the basic sound sequence and then 2 variations in different patterns (but with the same instrument). I'd like to add effects to the 2 variations but not the original pattern and I can't work out how. I'm sure I'm probably overlooking something simple but any help would be greatly appreciated. Cheers :)

You can either split the tracks you want to add effects to, to another mixer track. Or you can create a track for the effect, wire it to the piano track, and automate the (send?). Or you can automate the knob within the effect you're using.

You're new to fl studio but you are using version 9?
Man, version 9 and 10, those were the days.

But anyways yes you can basically route what you want in a daw, each channel is actually tracks and patterns are sections/clips/blocks.
