Not to sound like captain obvious, but try Youtubing "Maschine Tutorials" and also check out the NI Forum. Tons there. That's how I got started when I bought it last year.

if your using the maschine your best bet is to use the software it comes with unless you want to get all techy and use ableton. im not sure if you get the mikro you get a different software but i heard the other maschine with groove productions is pretty easy to use

I got the regular one, not the Micro. And it's funny you mention Ableton because that is what I was using already. But I plan on getting familiar more with Maschine and later down the road, Connect it with Ableton and get real funky.

Maschinetutorials website is pretty straightforward. Personally I don't think it's worth $10 a month, but it does give you little information that takes you a long way. You may not know something, but there is always something on the site that gives you a little hint to expound on what they just went over. The forums are pretty cool too on the site. Good luck bro!

Like everyone said, St. Joe and Knocksquared are really helpful, but you should read the manual too, you'll probably hear that a lot on the NI forums.
