Ive got a couple of questions before i do this.
-Do you have to you hardware(midi keyboard) with Reason@
-How long would you say the learning curve is?
-Are there any good videos you've seen that would be helpful for someone who has never used Reason a day in there life? lol

    No, but it helps tremendously.

Depends on the person. Reason's interface may seem a bit daunting at first, but it's very visual. If you have a basic grasp of signal flow and, well, all the basic audio stuff or have worked with hardware before, it's probably gonna be relatively easy. And it's not like the concepts of it are any different than with any other DAW, even if they're presented a bit differently.

Probably, but the best thing obviously would be to download the demo and see for yourself. Reason's manual is also one of the nicest out there (and downloadable from the site).

    Why the switch?

Important things to keep in mind:
-Reason is a completely closed system. The synths, the effects, the samplers, that's all you can use.
-Because of the above, it can be difficult to learn to write tracks that don't sound like they were made in Reason.

If I was you, I'd pick up a cheap DAW like Reaper and just ReWire Reason into that.

^^ Man... I remember having the same OP questions back in like 2004. Lol... in the end ended up with Cubase and a Fantom. Then sold the Fantom for a Motif. Still have that same setup today, and couldn't be happier that I didn't choose Reason.

Don't do it. FlStudio us inherently more powerful than Reason. You will lose productivity

I tried FL and reason, and i must say that reason is much better when it comes to the sound quality, but FL has a better selection of instrument, and it also comes with a Fruty slicer, while reason you have to get ReCycle to chop your sounds.

You could just use both through a rewire (if you want reason sounds), but my question would be the same as krushing.....what are you changing DAWS for? Just sayin any DAW will have a learning curve and if you have been make beats for awhile theres nothing more frustrating then sitting at the computer for a couple hours and when you get up....you made zero music because the time was spend learning how to do what you already know how to do just with a different tool...just sayin.

Both are great. I started my journey in music production with "Fruity Loops" and ended up using Reason 4 today (I'm missing out on Reason 5). Reason is very streamlined and honestly, really simple. The learning curve for Reason isn't frustrating or a hassle. I like Reason because of the organization of it, the rack structure and the way you can arrange really easily.

There is a lot of power in Reason and lately I've been going through the manual Chapter-by-Chapter and there's so much hidden that you can do. FL Studio is just as good though. It's one of those things where you just have to decide. You can't go wrong with either, but I really think that Reason is more INTUITIVE because of the graphical interfaces. The ease of use and accessibility of what you want to do is nice.

At first the learning curve with Reason was annoying to me but there's a ton of youtube videos that will help you out a lot.

Once I got comfortable with Reason I came to like it more than FL.

I think making synth sounds on Reason is way better than FL, just tweaking instruments in general as well as loading drums.
