How to use note repeat in reason 5 without midi controller?

note repeat is a function of an MPC and some MPD's. note repeat is just a one button function for inserting midi notes at the current signature and note length. Firstly, if you wanted to do it automatically, you would definitely need a midi controller. If you are using a computer keyboard and mouse it is manual. Secondly, without an MPC or an MPD (or some other controller that has a similar function) it cannot be done in reason. You can emulate the function by manually entering notes or copying some midi data.

in reason, if you drew a 1/16 note every other note for 4 bars, this would be the equivalent of holding down a pad and note repeat on a MPC.

also this can easily be done in cubase with the advanced MIDI functions. and finally, there was a reason for note repeat when the MPC was made. It was difficult to edit midi data and this was short cut to enter in a large no of midi notes that was repetitive like Hi Hats. Because of computers and DAW's like cubase, there isn't a need for Note repeat, because you can cut, copy, paste and move notes with the click of a mouse on a computer screen.
