How to get my music noticed

Hello guys I've been wondering how do you guys promote your videos? Or how did you just get more views? Did you gaveaway some free beats on the youtube from the start or something?

Pay for advertisements or some kinda other promotion then do something to get people talking about you to their friends whether positive or negative to get the original seed views from ads to multiply.

This is something I'm facing right now, but I'm not to worried about it. I feel that if my music is hot, it will spread out on its own. Of course marketing helps, but I want to be sure that my music is making a buzz on its own first before I give it a boost.
