What you are hearing is call a Tape Stop Effect.

There many ways to the tape stop effect. I like to use the grossbeat in FL studio but what I notice most do what works for them the best.

Yep EFFECTRIX was mentioned at the end of the article. It is a little on the spendy side for just tape stops, but you can use it for so many other things as well.

dbtape stop is what i use, i remember deleting it while back thanks for the memory refresher to get it. I don't use tape stops. I think they kinda got played out.

Yeah the effect has been around the block! Still sounds cool if it's used creatively!
