How can I use FX in my tracks? [Beginner]

Like, I see a lot of tracks using fx in some way, can anyone tell me how I can use FX in my tracks? I don't mean like placing it in the playlist or stuff I mean the other way.
 
FX are a creative thing, you use them how you want to. Might as well ask what kind of music should you make-the answer is whatever you think sounds good.

If you're lacking ideas, spend some time learning what all the different FX (reverb, distortion, phaser, chorus, flanger, echo etc) do and what they sound like then listen out for them in your favorite tracks
 
When you first start off experimenting with different effects, don't be afraid to take parameters to extremes. In most cases it wont sound great, but itl give you an idea of what the effect does as well as help shape what youl find desirable in a sound in future productions.
