Hello everyone my name is Netta. I have been on and off making beats and I want to be more serious about it and is wondering what Music theory should i learn to make better beats? should i learn all of Music theory or just a few things will get me by? thank you.

What do you think about starting with music you are passionate about? Can't be a bad point of reference, can it?? :)
 
yeah I mainly make hip hop/ Rnb beats. I want to know what music theory is the most essential to know for making beats. I don't want to know all but a basic understanding that will benefit me in making better beats.
 
I would say go for some piano learning course, that's all music theory you need, next would be a mix engineering lessons, also remember that sound selection is key to good sounding mix!
