i just got logic 9 and i was wondering if its worth it to install the sounds? they take up alot of memory and i won't install if its not recommended to use them. i wil use vsti instead

on top of that i have reason 5 and pro tools 9

alot of the vsti i see also have rtas version for protools so if its not worth it i'll stick to using pro tools.

i make beats and rap so i not only need it for the instruments.

    so i have two questions

what is the better program and why

also should i be using the logic 9 stock instruments? i have reason

yeah, there are some great sounds in there, obviously don't use a vocal or something that is really recognisable!

i've not used logic myself but I have heard that the native VST's are awesome.

Just got logic myself and it's safe to say the stock sounds are excellent. I used reason before but logic's a whole new beast. The yamaha piano is great if you like pianos and there are some dirty synths aswell. Drums seem ok but I use maschine for them now. Peace.

The brass seems a bit weak IMO.

I have heard the demos and they sound great. I think Logic may have the best stock VSTs in a packaged DAW.

I saw a video online and lady gaga's main producer only uses logic and the stock sounds and instruments.

Install everything and go back and delete the loops. That will save you 20+GB.

Ill cut sounds, make my own with the synthesizers, i've also in the past purchased sound packages. I don't really see that necessary but great for any beginner.
