Chord progression/lifeless melodies

Every genre has what you are trying to avoid. Take yourself out of the mindset of making beats. Beatmakers are everywhere but few are composers. This is not a semantics war but many at FP "make beats" but few "compose." Once you get that, your compositions will be no longer boring. Take the music seriously but not yourself.
