I have been wondering this for awhile, and I know that it takes research to figure it out... I am just hoping someone can point me in the right direction with some good articles or video tutorials hopefully. I just got done watching this video on youtube - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N3X1JLxBq0w

I have no idea how to use all these function like LFO's, oscillators, filters etc. I know that learning how to use these effects and learning how to tweak these parameters and functions could really help bring me to the next level in my music making... any advice?

Take it in steps. Get familiar with one thing first and make sure you understand it. May I ask what DAW you are using?

Also man if you are interested in making house music and you have the time can you maybe check out my video?
Its just basically the very basics of house music and how to make it.

Reverse engineer! Find all your favorite presets in the synth you want to learn and open one. Then open another instance of the same synth with the default sound (no preset). Then one by one, change all the knobs, envelopes, LFO's, etc. as your favorite preset. Keep doing this and you will learn LOTS. :)

An excellent free resource is the Synth Secrets series from Sound on Sound - take the time to read and understand.

Also highly recommend Syntorial - best interactive tutorial on subtractive synth ever, free trial available.

I recommend to you ADSR tutorials. you will learn everything from scratch there. its very helpful !
