Hey everyone

So i been ''making'' or atleast trying to make hardstyle music for about 6 months now, and i quiet good at making the melodies but i struggle alot with the kick :/
anyway so im goona start a school that focusing on making electronic music (hardstyle for me) in about a week, and its so that until now i have been using FL studio. but now when i start my school we gonna get a Mac and the programm Pro Tools with it. So i wonder what's the best and proffesional programm to make hardstyle with, is it like FL, ableton, logic or protools? im not the best at piano so i use the piano roll alot.

I would like music like Wasted penguinz do, becuse they are my favorite producers if that does anything :)

Thanks for your time

Why don't you try to mess with some distortion over your kick? I believe that's the way they do (I'm no specialist on hardstyle, though).

Hey,

I've not yet attempted Hardstyle, but I love Hardcore and hard dance. I happen to have some great Hardstyle KICK samples, although, I'm sure by the sound of the post you want to be able to tweak a 909 to your own Hardstyle magic!

Distortion and saturation seem to get those kind of results, fabfilters Pro-s can get some nice distorted sounding kicks out of it!

well if you're moving to Mac-platform you'll need to find a DAW that works on that platform

if I was you I would continue to use FL studio on the laptop you have now

and you can track-your beats and load them up in Pro-Tools on Mac
if I'm understanding right
1.at your audio school (you'll need Mac)?? the audio school says they need you to have a Mac??
2.Your audio school says you need to pay for Pro-Tools or Pro-Tools is the plat-form they teach with
??????????

any way
go straight to Youtube and learn
free classroom all day on Youtube
tons of tutorials on Youtube
youtube...hmmm...Youtube

I guess you get the point

I'm confused by your post
I don't know if you just think you need Pro-tools or you need Pro-Tools for school

i currently have FL on my main computer (not laptop)

1. i will get a mac for free when i start in the school so kind of yes i will need to have a mac
2 and pro-tools i also will get for free as they first use garage band then go over to pro-tools to teach with.

im watching a ton of tutorials on youtube about producing and mostly on the kick now.

The thing i wonder are what program ''is the best'' if i should continue with fl as main and have pro-tools and alternative. Or now when i have a mac go and main Logic/pro tools

Please, keep in mind that the DAW itself doesn't matter. All DAWs can do exactly the same thing.

Pro Tools and Macs are considered the industry standard mostly due to historical reasons which are now at odds with the way most people work, ie most people use native processing on powerful computers rather than rely on additional DSP hardware to do all the heavy lifting for the computer, big studios still use the expensive Pro Tools hardware but here is the real kicker a lot of people buy Macs for native processing because big studios use Macs.....overlooking the fact that Macs are used to host hardware that takes the strain off the Mac! They also buy native versions of Pro Tools because they think the software is what is important as opposed to the DSP hardware used by the big boys.

There is more to a hardstyle kick than just applying overdrive to a TR-909 kick, it involves hours worth of sound design.

i relly dont think it matters so much what program you use. I myself use fl studio, but when it really comes down to it its all about your fit. As far as kick drums simply using the right equalizing makes all the difference as opposed to using heavy layers of distortion.
