Im having trouble finding dope rappers. Does anybody know any websites where rappers hang out? I've been to dopetracks but its like shopping at ross over there. You have to really sift through the rappers to find the ones that are dope. Any suggestions?

    Thanks!

    Are you serious?

I suggest turning off your computer, going outside and scouting your city/state for rappers. You live in Cali, for chrissakes, and you need help finding dope rappers? Really?

Reverbnation is good place to find artist. You can narrow your search down, find an artist who you feel you would like to work with or would fit some of your beats. Read their bio and listen to their tracks to get a sense of their style. Then get their Facebook, or Twitter, or whatever contact info they have and send them a short little message. For example

"Hey Joe, I have been following you on reverb for a while and I'm really feeling your style, you flow reminds a little bit of T.I. (if that's who they think they sound similar too) but a the same time still unique. I was wondering do you have any mix-tapes or projects I can listen to, or are you currently working on any? Anyway man keep doing what your doing, I'm really feelin it. And also if you ever wanted to collab just hit me up, I produce beats as well, and I got some tracks you would just kill. -blackghostbeats"

You would write something similar to that. That was just off the top of my head. The point is to find the artist you like then build a relationship with them compliment them and be sincere. If you do that to a few artist a day, you will see more people hitting you back and wanting to work with you or hear some of your beats. There is also Facebook, Twitter, etc.. but this should be good for now.

i have this same problem, seems like theres alot more producers then rappers, i do youtube searches for freestyle rap etc. but you run into the problem of finding kids who just put up some vids instead of rappers out on the grind everyday

I sometimes use Twitter for finding rappers, putting ''look for a producer'' or ''looking for a beat'' in the searchbar
