? about keyboard hook up to pc

Well in the future I am going to get something like a Triton Le or maybe spring for a fantom s again or somethig anyways. I was wondering say I hooked up a midi keybaord to my audiophile 2496(getting soon) via midi. Would it record the sound form the keybaord or should I route it to mixer and do it through the rca plugs. Im gonna record in probaly FL but hopefully Ill be up to something like reason or cubase by then. Would this work or did I miss something? Thanks

if your refering to hooking the triton or fantom to your soundcard you woule run a audio out on the keybaord to the audio in on the soundcard .u wouldnt need midi if you want the triton sounds ,midi are notes,not audio

hey gballin..

your question somehow confused me: you were talking about connecting your midi-keyboard to the audiophile via midi (that's fine so far) but you never said anything about hooking it up audiowise.. (audio won't be transmitted via midi-setup.. that's just for controller-data) so you have to connect the audio cables as well (yep, through the mixer into the soundcard)

i doubt that FL does the job you expect, but since you said that you are getting cubase you should be getting the job done

just use your workstation as if it was a external sound module sequenced by cubase and bounce the audio to disk once finished..

i personally don't use cubase in case you need specific help on a certain topic, but there are lots of others around that do, or if it's something not too specific i might help as well
