What up FP!?

So I've never really dabbled into the 808's. I'm usually more of sample based/90's hip hop accoustic sounding guy.

I always layer my kicks (1 more subby and 1 with some high end) to get the fall sound I look for.

What's the deal with the 808? I can never get my kick and 808 to hit clean and hard and sound like one.

Can someone help me with this? What's your technique?
I always layer several kicks, but because the 808 has so much heavy bottom end, should I just be layering one kick with my 808 that has a lot more high end?

What are some examples of frequency ranges I should have my kick and sub at?

I also don't have the greatest monitors, so that's also not helping....SMH

Kick at 60hz, 808 @ 80hz sometimes works better the other way round. Jus realised the chef 808 from Johnny Julianos Trap Lord Drums sounds really good when pushed @80hz using R Bass, R Bass is good tool for exaggerating different bass frequencies.
